Futbolito in the City powered by Shell Energy provides 90 minutes of FREE soccer programming and free play to youth in the greater Houston area. The program is open to children ages 6-14 once a week for five weeks. Participants will have the opportunity to receive prizes including Dynamo FC/Dash gear, tickets, autographs and the chance to meet Dynamo FC/Dash players. The Dynamo & Dash Kickstart STEM program is an educational curriculum aimed at encouraging students to learn about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) concepts with a focus on using soccer as an educational tool. Throughout the year Dynamo & Dash Charities and 11 Sports Media partnered together to host six Lunch & Learn programs that provide a fun and educational experience for middle school and high school students. Each Lunch & Learn focuses on a different topic and provided the students the opportunity to hear from experts in various field. Mini-pitches created in parks across the city allow a great place for the youth of Houston to be introduced to the beautiful game. Currently, there are 18 pitches in 13 parks in Houston, Houston Dynamo FC and the Houston Dash have committed to building three mini-pitches a year for five years.
The Houston Dynamo and Dash, MLS WORKS, and Special Olympics have teamed up to promote social inclusion through the Unified Sports® Soccer Exchange Program, where athletes with and without intellectual disabilities play as one team. Dynamo & Dash Charities is committed to promoting the importance of education and literacy among elementary and middle school students in the Houston area. Diesel’s Readers was created to reward students for going above and beyond by reading outside of the classroom. The program is hosted twice a year in March and September.
