The U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) will face Mexico in a friendly match at 12:30 p.m. CT on Sunday, April 8 at BBVA Compass Stadium, U.S. Soccer announced today.
Tickets go on sale Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m. CT through BBVACompassStadium.com and at the BBVA Compass Stadium ticket office (open Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Houston Dash Season Ticket Members will receive an exclusive presale opportunity to purchase tickets prior to the general public. FOX will broadcast the match, the fifth USWNT game at BBVA Compass Stadium and eighth in Houston. The USWNT is undefeated in the Bayou City and return to Texas where they claimed the 2016 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Championship.
The USWNT features Houston Dash goalkeeperJane Campbell and forward Christen Press. Campbell made her debut with the senior national team in the USWNT’s last visit to BBVA Compass Stadium on April 9 in a 5-1 victory over Russia. Press was a member of the USWNT squad that won the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup and 2016 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Championship in Houston.
Mexico features Dash goalkeeper Bianca Henninger, who signed a new contract with the club earlier this month. This will be the first meeting between both countries since February of 2016, where the USWNT defeated Mexico 1-0 in an Olympic Qualifying match.
