For the first time since the 1966 Men's World Cup, England were victorious in a major tournament, defeating Germany 2-1 in extra time in front of a record crowd of 87,192 at Wembley Stadium. Holding it down at left back for the Lionesses from start to finish was none other that the Dash's Rachel Daly, who has become a fixture in her nation's back line in recent years.
Daly was a stalwart for the Lionesses in their home tournament, recording a 81.67% passing accuracy across six matches. The EURO victory was Daly's first major international honor with the Lionesses, becoming the first NWSL player to win the tournament while a member of the league.
