The Houston Dash have announced that Caity Heap, Bianca Henninger and Cami Privett have signed new contracts. Additionally, Sarah Hagen announced her retirement from professional soccer after four years in the National Women’s Soccer League, and Meghan Cox will return to the University of Virginia to finish her degree program.
Heap appeared in 13 games for the Dash last season, more than double the number of games she appeared in during her rookie season (six). The Texas Tech product was signed as a non-roster invitee prior to the beginning of the 2016 NWSL season.
Henninger returned to Houston for her second stint with the club last August as a goalkeeper replacement. The Mexican National Team goalkeeper played in five games during the 2016 for the Dash and earned a shutout in a 3-0 victory over Portland Thorns FC on July 16, 2016. Henninger appeared in 17 games for Houston over four seasons.
Privett played in 16 games for the Dash in 2017, her third year with the club. The defender was a non-roster invitee in 2015 after an impressive performance at the Dash open tryouts. Privett earned a professional contract in Norway and returned for the 2016 season as a player on the active roster.
Hagen appeared in 17 games for Houston last season, scoring twice to give Houston a 3-1 victory in Boston on Aug 16. The forward was acquired off the waiver wire on April 10 after a year in Orlando. Hagen scored 12 goals and tallied five assists during her NWSL career, which includes two seasons in Kansas City.
Cox appeared in 10 games last season and finished her rookie year in Houston after the Dash claimed the midfielder off the waiver wire in August. The midfielder joined the Portland Thorns last April after she finished her collegiate career with 11 goals and 10 assists over 67 games for the Cavaliers.
