The Houston Dash have acquired defender Caprice Dydasco following a trade with NJ/NY Gotham FC, the club announced today.
Houston will send $120,000 dollars in allocation money to Gotham in exchange for the defender. The Dash will send additional allocation money up to $30,000 to the club, pending conditions met.

We are looking forward to the experience and leadership Caprice brings as we continue to push toward our first playoff appearance in club history.”
Dydasco has appeared in 13 games and started all of them this season for Gotham and is in her sixth season in the NWSL. The defender has made 23 clearances, 49 duels won, eight blocks and 6 interceptions this season. Last season Dydasco was named the 2021 NWSL Defender of the Year named to the NWSL Best XI and was nominated for an ESPY in 2022.
The 29-year-old defender has been with Gotham since the 2019 season where she went on to make 61 total regular season appearances for the New Jersey based club. Prior to that she played three seasons with the Washington Spirit from 2016 to 2018. The Spirit selected Dydasco No. 19 overall in the 2015 NWSL Draft.
The Honolulu, Hawaii native played collegiately at the University of California-Los Angeles where she appeared in 95 games and made 89 starts for the Bruins.
Dydasco will be available to the media today at 12:30 p.m. CT ahead of her first training session in San Diego with the Dash. Dydasco is expected to be available for selection for tomorrow’s match against the Wave.
