Houston Dash assistant coach Twila Kilgore (Kaufman) has been tabbed to lead the upcoming United States U-23 Women’s Youth National Team camp, U.S. Soccer announced today.
The USWYNT camp will take place from Jan. 23-28 in Austin. It will run concurrently with the second half of the USWNT’s annual training camp. This is the first USWYNT training camp to take place since fall 2019.
Kilgore (Kaufman) also recently earned the USSF Pro License. She joins three other women, including former USWNT head coach Jill Ellis, to earn the certification, and is the first woman born in the United States to earn a Pro License.
“Both getting into the course and passing the course are big accomplishments for everyone involved. I am thankful for my cohort both male and female,” Kilgore said. “Of course, I am proud to be in the company of Jill Ellis, Laura Harvey and Tracey Kevins amongst all of our other colleagues. I look forward to seeing more women coaching professionally and as participants in these courses in addition to growing in numbers and influence across every soccer landscape in this country.”
After the completion of the USWYNT camp, Kilgore will return to Houston and help the Dash prepare for the NWSL preseason, which begins Feb. 1.
