Houston Dash defender Clare Polkinghorne and forward Kyah Simon were named to Australia’s 18-player roster for a pair of friendlies in October, the federation announced earlier this week.
Polkinghorne joined Houston in June and started in 9 games for Houston who finished with a 9-10-5 record, a franchise best. The defender has represented the Matildas in three FIFA Women’s World Cups and scored eight goals in 108 caps at the senior level.
Simon scored two goals and tallied two assists for Houston in 15 appearances last season after returning to the NWSL for the first time since 2016. The forward has scored 22 goals in 86 appearances for the Matildas.
