The Houston Dash waived defenders Lindsay Agnew and Jazmin Jackmon, the club announced today.
Agnew joined Houston in 2018 through a trade with the Washington Spirit for the third overall pick in the NWSL College Draft. With the Dash, the defender started in 11 of her 19 appearances and tallied one assist. Agnew enjoyed a decorated collegiate career at Ohio State University, where she finished her final season leading the team and tied for second in the Big Ten Conference in assists with seven. The Kingston, Ontario native was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament team and earned Academic All-Big Ten accolades.
Agnew received her first senior call-up to Canada’s Women’s National Team in January 2017 and was part of the squad that reached the Round of 16 in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. The 24-year-old has earned 11 caps with Canada’s senior team and seven with Canada’s Under-20 National Team.
Jackmon joined the Dash when she was selected as the No. 21 overall pick from the University of Oregon. The 5’10” defender saw action in all 38 games over two seasons with the Ducks. Jackmon was the first University of Oregon player drafted into the NWSL and earned Honorable Mention Academic All-Pac 12 honors as a senior.
The Pasadena, Calif. native made her professional debut in the Dash’s first friendly on international soil as Houston faced Tigres U.A.N.L. Femenil on Oct. 5, 2019 at Estadio Universitario in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Following these transactions, the Dash now have 22 players on their active roster ahead of the 2020 NWSL season.
