Houston Dash Acquire Allocation Money from Racing Louisville for Defender Courtney Petersen

HOUSTON (Aug. 31, 2024) - The Houston Dash acquired $45,000 in allocation money from Racing Louisville FC for defender Courtney Petersen, both teams announced today.

Peterson joined the Dash on Feb. 13, 2023, after the team acquired her in a trade with the Orlando Pride earlier that month. The defender played in 38 games for the Dash across all competitions. She featured in 16 regular season games this year and recently played in all three of Houston’s NWSL x LIGA MX Femenil Summer Cup games.

The defender was the No. 7 overall pick in the 2020 NWSL College Draft and has featured in 91 games across all competitions for the Dash and Orlando.

Petersen played collegiately at the University of Virginia and made 78 career appearances for the Cavaliers, finishing with 12 assists and five goals as a defender. She was named an All-Region First Team selection by United Soccer Coaches and earned All-ACC Second Team honors as a senior.
