The Houston Dash acquired the Orlando Pride’s natural third-round pick in the 2019 NWSL College Draft for defender Lotta Okvist, the club announced today.
Okvist was selected by Houston in the NWSL’s Dispersal Draft on January 30. The defender spent last year with Piteå IF in Sweden’s Damallsvenskan, appearing in 25 games. Okvist was a member of Sweden’s youth national team that won the U-19 UEFA title in 2016.
With this trade, the Dash now have 18 players on the active player roster as they continue preparations for their 2018 season opener against the Chicago Red Stars on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. CDT at BBVA Compass Stadium.
