The Houston Dash have added Hiro Suzuki to the technical staff, the team announced today.
Suzuki will join the Dash as an assistant coach and video analyst and will be with the team for the start of the preseason, which begins February 1.
For several years, Suzuki has been deeply involved in the Houston soccer scene, coaching in various roles in the city at multiple levels, including as an assistant coach for the University of St. Thomas men’s soccer program. He has also spent several years with the Houston Dynamo FC Academy serving as the head coach of Formation Phase teams (U13, U14 and U15) from 2017 to 2021 and was the Director of the Formation Phase and U15 head coach during his final two seasons.
Suzuki also served as a member of the Dash coaching staff from 2015 to 2016 as an assistant coach.
Prior to his time in Houston, the 43-year-old coached at his alma mater, Yale University, from 2011 to 2015 and graduated from the university with a degree in Economics in 2000.
