HOUSTON (Monday, Feb. 26, 2024) – The Houston Dash announced the updated 2024 preseason roster, adding three Under-18 players, goalkeeper Olivia Geller and forwards Ayva Jordan, and Zoe Miles, and goalkeeper Alia Skinneras non-rostered invitees in training camp.
“It has been great to see this group coming together in this new era and training under Fran. The young players and core of experienced veterans have all come in and are making an impression,” Dash general manager Alex Singer said. “It’s a high energy environment, where competition is off the charts and the players are hungry. We have grown together during these weeks, are starting to see partnerships and progress coming to life, and we're looking forward to the friendlies ahead of us to test where we are at.”
Skinner recently graduated from Virgina Tech and ended the 2023 regular season ranked 2nd in the ACC with a save percentage of .823.
Geller, a Texas Christian University signee, joined Houston’s preseason training camp early last week. The high school senior previously played for the FC Dallas academy and has been with the USYNT U17 team.
Jordan, a native of Las Vegas, joined the team earlier this month in Tucson, Arizona. A member of the US Youth National U-17 squad, Jordan boasts an impressive resume, including being named ECNL National Player of the Year in 2022, All America in 2022 and 2023, and Conference Player of the Year in 2022 and 2023. She won the CONCACAF Championship with the U15 USYNT. Jordan showcased her skills by scoring during Houston’s preseason friendly against the University of Texas at Austin on Saturday, Feb. 24.
Miles has participated in preseason training and in Houston’s friendly against UT. A Houston native, she is a member of Solar SC in Dallas, Texas, and has taken part in USYNT ID Camps.
The Dash currently have six players out of market on National Team duty: Michelle Alozie (Nigeria), Jane Campbell (USA), Savannah Madden (Peru), Diana Ordóñez (Mexico), Sarah Puntigam (Austria), Maria Sánchez (Mexico).
Additionally, the Houston Dash and defender Ally Prisock have mutually agreed to terminate the final year of the Southern California native’s contract.
“We thank Ally for her time with the Dash and wish her nothing but the best for wherever the future may take her,” Singer said.
