The Houston Dash earned their first draw of the season in a 0-0 against the Boston Breakers.

After a successful week in which several players earned recognition within the NWSL, the Dash gained points in consecutive games for the first time this year with goalkeeper Jane Campbell leading the way with her second consecutive clean sheet.

The Dash had the first dangerous opportunity of the game when defender Poliana won the ball outside the box in the 11th minute and poked the ball to forward Nichelle Prince whose shot was saved by Breakers goalkeeper Sammy Prudhomme.

Dash forward Carli Lloyd won a foul near midfield in the 20th minute and midfielder Andressinha took the ensuing free kick and found Lloyd inside the box, but her header went wide of the far post.

After former Dash defender Allysha Chapman received a caution for a foul on Poliana outside the box in the 59th minute, Andressinha took the resulting free kick and found Poliana inside the box, but her header went over the crossbar.

The Breakers’ first dangerous opportunity came late in the game. In the 64th minute, Angela Salem took a right-footed shot from outside the box that was saved by Campbell.

The Dash will continue the 2017 season on Sunday, July 2 at 7:00 p.m. CDT against FC Kansas City at Swope Soccer Village before returning home to take on the Portland Thorns on Saturday, July 8 at BBVA Compass Stadium.
