Houston Dash forward Rachel Daly was named the NWSL Player of the Week, the league announced today.
Daly has scored back-to-back braces in her last two outings for Houston. Against Portland, Daly opened the scoring in the 18th minute last Wednesday. Daly then broke the 2-2 tie with Portland by scoring a crucial third, and game-winning goal for Houston. Against North Carolina, Daly scored to give the Dash the 2-1 lead and scored again late in the game to secure the 4-1 victory on Sunday at BBVA Stadium.
This is Daly’s third Player of the Week honor in her six-year career and the first since 2018 season. She is the second Dash Player to earn Player of the Week honors this season, joining midfielder Kristie Mewis, who received the honor in April.
Daly and the Dash face Kansas City NWSL later today for the third and final time this season. Houston looks for their third consecutive victory on the road as the Dash are eyeing to make the playoffs for the first time in club history.
