Houston Dash goalkeeper Bianca Henninger was named to the Mexico Women’s National Soccer Team in preparation for a friendly against Canada on Saturday, Feb. 4, the Federación Méxicana de Fútbol (FMF) announced Tuesday evening.
The 26-year-old is currently on loan with Melbourne Victory of the Westfield W-League where she has recorded one shutout in seven appearances. The goalkeeper started in five games for Houston last season and finished with a 1.40 goals against average and one shutout.
Henninger was first called up for the Mexican Women’s National Team last year for the Four Nations Cup in China but has yet to make an appearance. The goalkeeper could earn her first cap against Dash teammates Janine Beckie and Nichelle Prince on Feb. 4 in Vancouver.
