The Houston Dash return to BBVA Compass Stadium tonight to host the Orlando Pride for 70s Night in the final edition of the Way Back Wednesdays series.
This will be the rubber match in the three-game season series between these two clubs. Orlando claimed the first meeting with a 1-0 victory at Orlando City Stadium. Kealia Ohai and Huerta sparked a second-half comeback on June 27 to give Houston a 2-1 victory in Florida.
Houston looks to bounce back after falling to Seattle Reign FC last Saturday. Amber Brooks scored her first goal of the season and third for the club on a corner kick in the 12th minute, but Seattle rallied for three goals to win. This was the first of two trips to the Emerald City after Houston defeated the Reign 2-1 in their initial meeting earlier this season.
Sofia Huerta tallied an assist on Brooks' goal, giving her two goals and an assist in three appearances for Houston after joining the club via a trade with the Chicago Red Stars on June 18.
The Pride snapped a two-game losing streak with a 2-1 victory at home last Saturday over the Washington Spirit. Marta's 86th-minute strike secured three points for Orlando, which currently sit in third place. In addition to Marta, the Pride feature U.S. Women's National Team goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris, defender Ali Krieger and forward Sydney Leroux. Forward Alex Morgan missed the match last Saturday due to a right calf strain.
Looking ahead for the Dash, the team travels to Oregon on Saturday for its second road trip of the week and then visits the nation's capital on July 21 to face the Washington Spirit. The Dash return to BBVA Compass Stadium on Aug. 5 to host Christen Press and Utah Royals FC.
