The Houston Dash return to BBVA Stadium tomorrow, July 2 to host OL Reign in their first regular season meeting of the year. Kickoff for Friday’s match is set for 7:30 p.m. CT, and fans can follow the action live on Paramount+ and international fans can stream the match live on Twitch.
The Dash looks to earn their fourth victory of the regular season against OL Reign. The Dash hold a 2-0-2 record against the Reign in the last four games. Currently, Houston holds a 3-1-3 record in the regular season. The Dash will travel to Chicago next week to face Kealia Watt and the Chicago Red Stars on Sunday, July 11 at 5:00 p.m. CT at SeatGeek Stadium.
Here are the three key points ahead of Friday’s game:
- HOUSTON UNBEATEN AT HOME: BBVA Stadium is a difficult venue for opponents to visit and the Dash enter Friday’s game unbeaten at home since September 2019 with five wins and four draws. The nine-game unbeaten streak is the longest in club history, beating their past record by five games. Houston extended their run with a 2-1 victory over the Orlando Pride last Saturday and have a 5-0-4 record at BBVA Stadium in this unbeaten stretch.
- FAMILIAR FACES RETURN TO TEXAS: *Former Dash co-captain Amber Brooks returns to BBVA Stadium for the first time since joining the Reign in January 2020. Brooks, who played for Houston from 2015 to 2019, scored four goals in 91 appearances for Houston, starting in every game she played in orange. The defender reached her 100th NWSL cap at BBVA Stadium in the 2019 home opener against the Reign that April. Reign forward Sofia Huerta also returns to Houston after playing for the Dash from 2018 to 2019, scoring eight goals in 25 appearances.
- SECOND MEETING OF THE YEAR: The Dash and Reign played to a 0-0 draw at Cheney Stadium earlier this year in the 2021 Challenge Cup. Friday’s match will be the 18th all-time matchup between the two sides, with Houston trailing in the all-time series with a 2-13-3 record. In their last two meetings, the Dash earned four out of six points available with a win in the 2020 Challenge Cup and a draw in the 2021 Challenge Cup. Since their meeting in April, the Reign have added French forward Eugene LeSommer, goalkeeper Sarah Bouhaddi and defender Alana Cook to their roster.
