The Houston Dash and midfielder Bri Visalli have agreed to a new one-year contract, the club announced today.
Visalli made nine starts and appeared in 16 regular season matches in 2021 for the Dash. During the 2021 Challenge Cup, Visalli made four appearances including three starts. The San Jose, Calif. Native joined the Dash in 2020 and helped Houston win its first NWSL title, the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup.
Before joining the Dash, Visalli played overseas in the FA Women’s Super League in England with West Ham United in 2018 and Birmingham City in 2019. Visalli helped West Ham reach the FA Cup final against Manchester City and was subbed on during the second half of the final.
The 26-year-old midfielder played collegiately at Pepperdine University, becoming the Waves’ sixth ever All-American. Visalli also earned four All-WCC team honors and was twice named to the first team and set records at Pepperdine for games played, penalty kick goals and games started by a field player.
With the addition of Visalli, the Dash now have 23 players under contract for the start of the 2022 NWSL preseason.
