The Houston Dash have signed defender Bruna Benites, pending receipt of her International Transfer Certificate and P-1 Visa, the club announced today.
The Cuiaba, Brazil native spent 2016 in Norway with Avaldsnes IL. The defender appeared in six games and scored two goals.
The 31-year-old has appeared in 45 games for Brazil and scored four goals since her debut in 2012. The defender appeared in the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games and won the 2014 CONMEBOL Copa America Femenina. Additionally, she has claimed three International Tournament of Natal championships (2012-2015) with the senior national team.
Bruna is the fifth Brazilian player to sign with the club and joins Poliana in the backline for the 2017 NWSL season.
