The Matlidas and the Lionesses wrapped up their 2018 with a few November international friendlies.
Up first, Rachel Daly and the Lionesses hosted Austria on Thursday, November 8. The Dash forward entered the match in the second half and scored the third and final goal for England as the squad defeated Austria 3-0. The Lionesses then wrapped up their year with a 2-0 loss to Sweden, during which Daly played 71 minutes.
Down under, Clare Polkinghorne and the Matildas hosted Chile for the team’s final two friendlies of the year. Coming off a difficult 3-2 loss to Las Chicas de Rojo on Saturday, the Matildas bounced back to finish strong and earned a 5-0 win over Chile overnight on Monday. The Dash defender played the full 90 for both matches. Still sidelined by injury, Kyah Simon did dress for either match.
