Houston Dash goalkeeper Jane Campbell has been invited to train with the U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) during the upcoming SheBelieves Cup, U.S. Soccer announced today.
Head coach Jill Ellis invited 27 players to camp for the tournament, which runs from Feb. 27 – March 5. Matches will be played in Chester, Pa., Nashville, Tenn. and Tampa, Fla. In addition to the top-ranked United States side, the tournament will feature FIFA No. 4-ranked England, eighth-ranked Japan and 10th-ranked Brazil.
Campbell has earned three caps for the national team, two of which have come at BBVA Compass Stadium. She made her senior international debut in Houston during a 5-1 USWNT victory over Russia on April 9, 2017, and saw action in a 6-2 win over Mexico in Houston last April. She was most recently called in to national team camp last month in preparation for a pair of friendlies in Europe.
Campbell finished her second season with the Dash with three shutouts and a career-high 89 saves over 24 games. The goalkeeper was named as the Player’s Player of the Year by her teammates in October. That was her second club honor after being named the Unsung Hero in 2017.
