Houston Dash forward Kealia Ohaiwas voted the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Player of the Week by the NWSL Media Association for Week 15 of the 2016 NWSL season.
Ohai, 24, tallied two goals to help the Dash earn a 3-3 draw against the Western New York Flash Saturday at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston. It was the team’s third draw this season.
The Draper, Utah native scored her first goal of the game in the 47th minute when she made a run down the length of the field sprinting past Flash defenders and shot it far post past Flash goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland.
The University of North Carolina product scored again in the 63rd minute when she settled a long cross outside the 18 from Dash defender Stephanie Ochs and shot the ball into the right corner of the net.
Ohai played all 90 minutes in the game and finished with three shots on goal.
It is the first time Ohai has been honored as the NWSL Player of the Week, and is the fifth time a member of the Dash has won the award.
The Houston Dash return to action Thursday, August 18 at 8:00 p.m. ET against the Washington Spirit (TICKETS) at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston.
