The National Women’s Soccer League announced today that the kickoff time for the Houston Dash vs. Washington Spirit match at BBVA Compass Stadium on May 27 will move to 7:00 p.m. CDT. The match had originally been scheduled to start at 5 p.m. CDT.
“We elected to move the kickoff time for this match in order to provide cooler temperatures for the players and our fans,” said Houston Dash president Chris Canetti. “Monday is a holiday, which means that the majority of our fans will not have work or school obligations the next day, and because of that we felt comfortable with a later kickoff time.”
Tickets for the match are available at HoustonDashSoccer.com and the game will be streamed live on the go90 App or NWSLSoccer.com for international fans.
This will be the first meeting between Houston and Washington this season. Houston won two of the three games contested last season, including the only meeting at BBVA Compass Stadium, a 2-1 victory last July.
Houston return to the NWSL Game of the Week on Lifetime this Saturday as they face Utah Royals FC in Rio Tinto Stadium for the first time. Houston returns to BBVA Compass Stadium on at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23 to host Megan Rapinoe and Seattle Reign FC. Tickets for the match start at $19 and are available at HoustonDashSoccer.com.
