Houston Dash defender Michelle Alozie will join the Nigerian Women’s National Team for a pair of friendlies against Canada, the federation announced earlier this week.
Alozie will face current Dash teammates Allysha Chapman, Nichell Prince and Sophie Schmidt, during the April FIFA International Window. The Nigerian WNT and Alozie are coming off two victories over Ivory Coast on February 18 and 23 to qualify for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament later this year.
The American-born Nigerian player was first called up to the Nigerian WNT in 2021 for the U.S. Soccer Summer Series and made her international debut at PNC Stadium against Jamaica. A few days after her debut, Alozie scored her first international goal for the Super Falcons against Portugal.
The defender is currently participating in the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup with the Dash.
