The kickoff times for three Houston Dash games have been changed, along with times for 20 other games across the National Women’s Soccer League this season, the NWSL announced today.
The NWSL is also implementing increased measures for Hydration Breaks and new guidelines for Extreme Heat, including procedures for match delays, effective immediately. The new guidelines are available here.
The new kickoff times will affect Houston’s match at the Orlando Pride on June 24, Houston’s first trip to Portland on August 5 and the final home game of the season as the Dash host the Chicago Red Stars on Sept. 23. Each of those matches was originally scheduled for a 3 p.m. CT kickoff, and kickoff will now be listed at 2:30 p.m.
The matches at Orlando and at Portland will each be the Lifetime NWSL Game of the Week and will be broadcast nationally. The Chicago match on Sept. 23 is one of two games, along with Portland at Orlando, in consideration to be the Lifetime NWSL Game of the Week for that weekend. The NWSL and Lifetime will decide at a later date which game will be televised nationally.
Additionally, the NWSL Game of the Week on Lifetime will now be listed at 2:30 p.m. CT on the schedule with kickoff slated for 2:50 p.m. CT to accommodate for Hydration Breaks.
The full schedule of games with new kickoff times can be found below.
