Rachel Daly called into England Women’s National Team Camp

Houston Dash co-captain Rachel Daly was called in to the November England Women’s National Team training campunder head coach Phil Neville, the Football Association announced earlier today. 


Daly will join the Lionesses from Sunday, Nov. 22to Tuesday, Dec. 1 at St. George’s Park.


The forward is currently on loan with West Ham United FC in the FA Women’s Super League through December 2020. Daly, who made her FA WSL debut coming on as a substitute against Tottenham on Sept. 6, has scored three goals and tallied two assists in nine appearances with West Ham.After capping her successful summer run with Houston as the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup MVP, Daly scored her first WSL goal on Oct. 7 when West Ham defeated Brighton & Hove Albion in a penalty shootout after tying 2-2. 


The forward was a crucial piece of the Dash’s first league title in club history, scoring three goals and providing three assists to earn MVP and Golden Boot honors. Of Houston’s eight goals scored in the tournament, Daly played a role in five, including the assist to midfielder Shea Groom’s insurance goal in the Championship match against Chicago Red Stars. The assist gave Daly the Golden Boot honors after being tied with Groom and North Carolina Courage forward Lynn Williams with three goals
Daly has earned 35 caps for the Lionesses and scored three goals while splitting time as a forward and outside back. She played a key role in England’s semifinal run at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, seeing action in five of their seven matches and starting twice, including in the semifinal against the United States.
