Houston Dash forward Rachel Daly was named to the England Women’s National Football Team roster for a pair of FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifying matches this month, the Football Association announced earlier today.
England will host Northern Ireland at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 23 and will travel to face Latvia at Daugava Stadium in Riga on Tuesday, Oct. 26. England currently sit atop Group D in the UEFA World Cup Qualifying campaign with six points from two games.
The Houston Forward has appeared in 38 career matches for the Lionesses, scoring five goals, including a goal against Luxembourg on Sept. 21. Daly was named to England’s squad for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, making four appearances in the tournament.
Daly has appeared in 12 matches this season for the Dash, scoring nine goals. The team captain has had back-to-back braces against Portland and North Carolina, putting her in a tie for the NWSL Golden Boot race. Daly is one goal shy of tying her career best of 10 goals which she did in 2014.
