After a big year, forward Rachel Daly finds herself at number 90 on The Guardian’s Top 100 Female Footballers of 2019. This is her third year making the Top 100.

It was an incredible 2019 for Daly on the international stage. She became a regular face on the England Women’s National Team, finding time mainly as an outside back as opposed to her natural forward position for the Houston Dash. Her versatility makes her an important part of England’s roster, which was shown time and time again as she saw time in various matches leading up to the World Cup.

In preparation for the tournament, Daly helped England win the 2019 She Believes Cup with wins over Brazil and Japan and a draw with the United States. After being named to the World Cup roster, Daly found a starting spot in the semifinal against the United States.

On the NWSL front, Daly contributed despite her limited availability due to international duties. The forward is tied for goals scored on the season with five in 15 appearances, starting every game she played in 2019. Three of her five goals this season were game winners.
