Gabrielle and Sid Cawthorn have been Dash season ticket members for almost three seasons and they were both surprised and delighted to learn that they were being named SeatGeek’s Members of the Match.
“[We] just didn't feel like we were significant enough on the pecking order to get it, but it's always an honor,” Sid said.
Sid said he and his wife decided to become season ticket holders because they wanted a chance to support the growth of the women’s game in the United States and wanted to do the same here at the local level.
“I like how technical it is, the women play a lot tougher,” Sid said. “The club create a great environment, team plays really hard, the games are typically close. It’s fun.”
For Sid, one of his favorite games this season was the home opener against San Diego on May 1. Sid sat behind the goal for that game and took in all the chances the Dash were creating in an attempt to score, “the team just got my heart pumping and it was just so exciting.”
As a Dash365 member, Sid says there are a lot of things that elevate the experience for him and Gabrielle.
“The games are just fun in general and the benefits that we get from being a season ticket holder I think make the concessions more affordable and more enjoyable.” Sid said.
As the season progresses, Sid said he hopes more fans come out and support the growth of soccer in the city and the country.
“The team has been really competitive this year. They've shown improvement over the past couple years and it's just fun. The environment is good.,” Sid said. “I want soccer to grow in the US. This is how you start just by supporting your local teams.”
