The Houston Dash have three players who have been called up for the Canadian Women’s National team, Canada Soccer announced today.
Forward Nichelle Prince, midfielder Sophie Schmidt and defender Allysha Chapman will join the CanWNT for the February international FIFA window.
Canada will head to the United Kingdom to face off against England, Spain and Germany for the Arnold Clark Cup, a three-game tournament hosted by England. Houston’s Canadian trio will take on fellow Dash teammate Rachel Daly and England on Feb. 17. Canada will then face Germany on Feb. 20 and Spain on Feb. 23.
Champman has 86 career appearances and 69 starts for Canada, along with three assists and a goal. Prince has made 75 appearances, 39 starts and scored 13 goals for Canada. Schmidt has 205 career caps and 125 starts for the CanWNT. The Dash Canadian Trio also won the 2020 Olympic Gold Medal last summer while representing Canada at the Tokyo Olympic games.
