Houston Dash forward Rachel Daly (England), midfielder Denise O’Sullivan (Republic of Ireland) and goalkeeper Lydia Williams (Australia) were included in their national team rosters for international fixtures in early June. The trio, along with Allysha Chapman, Janine Beckie, Andressa and Poliana, who also were selected by their national teams, will be available to play in Friday’s game against the first place Washington Spirit.
Daly, 24, was previously called up for a training camp in 2014 at La Manga, Spain. England will face Serbia in a home-and-home series as part of the UEFA Women's EURO 2017 Finals qualifying campaign. The forward previously played for England’s youth teams and took part in the U-17 World Cup, but has not made her debut with the senior squad. Daly leads the Dash with three assists this season and scored a goal in her Houston debut, a 3-1 victory over the Chicago Red Stars.
O’Sullivan, 22, has earned 46 caps and scored eight goals for the Republic of Ireland. A playoff spot to enter the EURO 2017 Finals is on the line for Ireland, which will face Finland and Montenegro. O’Sullivan has one goal in four appearances for the Dash after transferring from Glasgow City FC.
Williams, 28, has earned 52 caps with the Matildas, including an undefeated qualifying campaign for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Australia will host New Zealand in Ballarat and Melbourne as part of a farewell tour prior to the Olympic Games. The goalkeeper recently received the NWSL Save of the Week award after she denied U.S. Women’s National Team and Washington Spirit forward Crystal Dunn from scoring her first goal of the season on May 14.
The Dash host the Washington Spirit on at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 27 at BBVA Compass Stadium for their final meeting in the regular season.
