Carli Lloyd returns to the U.S. Women’s National Team after missing the previous camp due to a left ankle injury, and goalkeeper Jane Campbell will join her Dash teammate on the USWNT squad for a pair of friendlies against South Korea on Oct. 19 and Oct. 22., U.S. Soccer announced today.
Lloyd, the two-time reigning FIFA Women’s Player of the Year, has scored 97 goals in 242 games for the USWNT and is three goals away from becoming the sixth player in U.S. history to score 100 international goals. She returns to the national team after missing the last camp due to a left ankle injury. The forward scored two goals in eight games for Houston last season.
Campbell finished her rookie season with three shutouts and 65 saves over 16 games, the most since the club’s inaugural season. The goalkeeper earned her first senior cap with the national team in April at BBVA Compass Stadium as the USWNT defeated Russia 5-1.
The match on Thursday, Oct. 19 will air live at 7 p.m. on FS1; and the second match will kickoff at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22 on ESPN. Tickets for both matches are available at USSoccer.com
