Last week, the W-League regular season came to an end. After 14 exciting weeks of action, a few of our Dash players abroad have found themselves in the postseason.
Two of our Dash players faced off against each other in their final match of the regular season. Midfielder Haley Hanson and Melbourne Victory took on forward Veronica Latsko and Sydney FC in a massive 3-1 win for Melbourne. The win pushed Hanson and company up to second in standings, surpassing now third place Sydney FC.
Defender Ari Romero and Perth Glory finished their home campaign with a tough 3-2 loss against the Western Sydney Wanderers. Despite being able to bounce back in strong fashion in the second half, Perth was unable to capture any points. Romero’s season comes to an end in W-League play.
The semifinals will occur next weekend, with our Dash players facing off against each other once again in hopes of making it to the Final. Melbourne Victory host Sydney FC women on Friday, March 13 at 10:00 pm CDT. The winner of the match will go on to face the winner of Melbourne City FC vs Western Sydney Wanderers, who play on Saturday, March 14 at 9:30 pm CST. Games are set to be broadcasted on ESPN+.
