Coming up this weekend in Australia, our Dash players on loan are preparing to face off against some familiar faces. First, let’s take a look back on last weekend’s action.
Despite a hard fought battle, defender Amber Brooks and Adelaide United fell 2-1 to Canberra United. Adelaide’s stoppage time goal was not enough to save at least a point for the home team. After a weather delay due to heat, midfielder Haley Hanson and Melbourne Victory played out to a 0-0 draw with Brisbane Roar. Hanson’s performance earned her a place in Team of the Round.
The Sydney Derby took a surprising turn of events with the Western Sydney Wanderers downing Sydney FC, which features midfielder Sofia Huerta and Veronica Latsko, 5-0. This was Latsko’s second appearance for the club, checking in at half time. Wrapping up the weekend, defender Ari Romero and Perth Glory fell 1-0 on the road to Melbourne City FC.
This week, it’s a back to back Dash match up. Romero and Perth Glory play host to Hanson and Melbourne Victory on Saturday, December 28 at 5:15 am CDT. Later in the evening, Latsko and Huerta’s Sydney FC host Brooks and Adelaide United at 11:00 pm CDT on ESPN+.
