Amber Brooks, Veronica Latsko and Adelaide United fell 2-1 to the Newcastle Jets at home. With the loss, the Reds are eliminated from the postseason. Veronica Latsko has scored nine goals this season and has a share of second place in the Golden Boot race. The forward would need three goals to match Sam Kerr or four goals in Friday's season finale against Brisbane Roar to win the award.
Sofia Huerta and Sydney FC were held to a 2-2 draw by Melbourne Victory on the road at Lakeside Stadium last Saturday. Sydney FC sit in third place and a draw in their final regular season game this Thursday, January 31 would secure a spot in the Finals.
