This was Canberra United’s first game of the season and Ochs was the sparkplug for many of United’s scoring opportunities, including a shot that forced a save from Dash teammate Williams inside the six-yard box.
Williams had a busy afternoon as Canberra pushed for an equalizer early in the second half. Canberra’s lone goal came from the penalty spot as former Dash defender Ellie Brush beat Williams for her first goal of the season.
Canberra is on the road this week as they face Brisbane Roar FC on Sunday and Melbourne City have a bye week. Henninger and Melbourne Victory host Sydney FC on Saturday.
