Leagues Cup 2025

This summer, Leagues Cup 2025 will feature 36 clubs, including 18 teams from Liga MX and 18 qualifying MLS teams, with the top nine from each MLS conference, based on their participation in the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs, earning a spot. This summer, clubs from both leagues will reunite for the third annual Leagues Cup, a month-long tournament running from late July through August. Matches will take place across the US and Canada, with Shell Energy Stadium hosting several exciting matchups.

Tournament Format

  • The 2025 edition includes a new and enhanced format for the tournament.
  • Features 36 clubs from both leagues – all 18 LIGA MX teams and 18 qualifying MLS teams.
  • The top nine teams in each MLS conference who participated in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs from 2024 qualified.
  • Leagues Cup 2025 will be played in two rounds: Phase One, beginning July 29, and the Knockout Rounds, ending with the Leagues Cup Final on August 31.
  • The MLS and LIGA MX regular seasons will continue play through the month of August, with most Leagues Cup knockout matches played midweek.
  • Top three teams will receive automatic bids into Concacaf Champions Cup with a chance to represent the Confederation at the FIFA Club World Cup..
