The Houston Dynamo Academy, presented by Statoil, returned to action last weekend for home matches against Texans Soccer Club. The U-18s drew 1-1 while the U-16s won 1-0 for their fourth consecutive victory. On Sunday, the Dynamo Pre-Academy teams went 1-1-1 against TSC, with the U-15s losing 1-0 to snap a 17 game unbeaten streak in league play. All games were played at the Houston Amateur Sports Park.
After a scoreless first half, Bryan Salazar (pictured, above) broke the deadlock for the Dynamo U-18s in the 68th minute. The goal was Salazar's third of the year. Although it looked as if the Dynamo would come away with their third win in four matches, it was not to be. With only seconds to go in the match, Joshua Ayala put a shot on target that slipped through the grasp of goalkeeper Leopoldo Castillo and trickled into the Dynamo's net. With the draw, the U-18s are now 3-2-2 and sit in sixth place in the Frontier Division.
In the second match of the afternoon doubleheader, the Dynamo U-16s continued their strong run of form, defeating TSC 1-0. Giovanni Pacheco's 70th-minute goal was the difference as the Dynamo won their fourth match in a row and fifth on the season. The goal was Pacheco's second on the year.
On Sunday, the Dynamo U-15s saw their 17-game league unbeaten streak snapped, with a 1-0 loss to TSC. The Dynamo U-14s won 1-0 behind a goal from second-half sub Matthew Alzate. The goal was Alzate's second in his past two games. The Dynamo U-13s drew 1-1, with Jommar Reyes providing the lone goal for Houston
All five Dynamo teams will be off this weekend.
