The Houston Dynamo Academy, presented by Statoil, lost both matches to MLS rival FC Dallas on Saturday at the Houston Amateur Sports Park.

In the first match of the day, the U-18s fell 3-0, behind three first-half goals from the visitors. Bobby Edet recorded a brace for FC Dallas, heading home two pinpoint crosses from the right flank. Midfielder Kellyn Acosta, who was signed by Dallas to a homegrown contract in July, sealed the game with a free-kick goal in the 40th minute.

The Dynamo's best opportunity came minutes before Acosta's goal, when Houston caught the visitors in transition. Jose Rodriguez played a square ball to Dener Dos Santos at the top of the penalty box, but his one-time shot, which was headed to the far corner, was knocked away by the Dallas goalkeeper.

The U-16s faced a similar fate as the older squad, falling behind 2-0 in the first 30 minutes. Midfielder Christian Lucatero (pictured, above), however, entered the game for Houston in the 39th minute and made an immediate impact. The talented lefty, who recently returned from a stint with the U.S. U-15s, curled a free kick around the wall in first-half stoppage time to cut the lead in half. FC Dallas stormed back in the second half as Aaron Meyer and Santiago Agudelo each completed their brace to give the visitors a 4-1 lead. Lucatero added one more for the home side late, but it was not enough as the U-16s fell to 1-1-1 on the season.

On Sunday, the Dynamo U-13 and U-14 squads fell to Dallas 2-0 and 5-3, respectively. Christian Molina scored two goals and Alejandro Lezama added a third for the U-14s. In the final match of the day, the Dynamo and Dallas U-15 squads played to a scoreless draw.

All five teams will return to action this weekend against local club Texas Rush. The U-18s will play Saturday at 1 p.m. and the U-16s will follow at 3:30. On Sunday, the U-14s and U-15s will kick off at 12 noon, with the U-13s to follow at 2 p.m. All games will be played at the Houston Amateur Sports Park.
