This past weekend the Dynamo Academy Under-19s, U-17s, U-15s, U-14s, U-13s, U-12s and U-11s faced the Dallas Texans at Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth. All of the teams overcame tough, windy conditions to try and get results this weekend. Overall, the U-17, U-13, U-12 and U-11 teams dominated this weekend in Fort Worth.

The U-17s/19s performed well in spite of the wind, which brings a new challenge to the game. Thanks to goals by forward Kaya Ignacio and forward Daniel Rios, the U-17s came out with a 2-0 win against the Texans, dominating the entire game with superior plays by Ignacio and midfielder Javier Chavez. Although the U-19s controlled most of the match and kept the Texans out of the attacking third, they left Fort Worth with a 1-1 tie after a late goal by the Texans.

Both the U-15s and U-14s came out of the weekend with losses on their scoresheet in spite of outstanding first-half performances. The U-15s had the better of play in the first half but went into the second half down by one. Though their attacks were strong, they could not quite put one in the net and ended the game 2-0. Similar to their older counterparts, the U-14s had one of the best first half performances of their season against a very skilled competitor. Defender Angel Garcia helped the team create a solid defense, but ultimately it was not enough to stop the Texans from leaving the game with a win (3-1).

At the younger levels, the teams excelled. The U-13s finished the weekend with a 3-1 win. On the offensive side of things, defender Folawe Adeniyi and forward Nathan Buwemi were able to put goals away in the third and 31st minutes thanks to assists by Brian Alanis and Sebastian Alvarez. On the defensive side of things, Alanis made key defensive blocks, midfielder Jonathan Rodriguez intercepted dangerous passes and goalkeeper Kevin Torres made critical saves in both halves of the game. The game ended on a stellar goal by forward Parker Jackson.

The U-12s played a pair of double headers on the weekend, competing against Dallas Texans and Dallas Texans South. They performed well against the Dallas Texans, losing by 2-1 in the first game and then redeeming themselves with a 3-2 win in the second match. They showed no mercy against Dallas Texans South, winning by 4-1 and 7-0 in these two matchups.

The two U-11 teams, playing up a year in the U-12 division, played their final games of the DDL season. Both teams played very well and showed development in key areas. One team ended the weekend with a 2-2 tie and the other with a 6-1 win.

Fans can catch the U-19, U-17, U-15, U-14, U-13 and U-12 Academy teams playing against Solar this coming weekend, April 6, at Houston Sports Park. The teams will then travel to various tournaments later in the month.
