Houston Dynamo defender Adolfo Machado has been called up to the Panama national team for two friendly matches, the Federación Panameña de Fútbol (FEPAFUT) announced last night.
Machado is part of a 24-man roster set to face Denmark and Switzerland on March 22 and 27, respectively, as Panama prepares for its first World Cup appearance this summer.
Panama visits Denmark at Brøndby Stadium in Brøndby on Thursday, March 22. Los Canaleros will then travel to Lucerne, Switzerland to face La Nati at Swissporarena on Tuesday, March 27.
Machado made his 2018 season debut on Saturday, March 3 in a 4-0 win against Atlanta United FC. He started and played the full 90 minutes at center back, helping the Dynamo keep a clean sheet. For Panama, the 32-year-old has earned 72 caps and helped the national team qualify for the World Cup for the first time ever. He played in seven of the 10 games in the Hexagonal during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
