HOUSTON – When the Houston Dynamo take the field Sunday against the Colorado Rapids (4 pm CT), captain Brad Davis expects to be leading them out of the tunnel.

A week after leaving the game against Toronto FC with a groin injury, Davis returned to the training field on Friday and told MLSsoccer.com he is ready to go for Sunday’s action.

“It was more of a precautionary thing,” Davis said of his skipping workouts earlier this week. “It was one of those situations where I know we’ve got guys that are capable of coming in and doing the job. I had to be a good pro and good teammate and if I can’t be out there playing 100 percent I’ve got to say something.

“I didn’t want to push it and make it bad. I knew we had the extra days this week and had a few down days to bounce back and now I feel good and ready to go.”

Midfielder Boniek Garcia, meanwhile, trained this week, but it’s unclear what role he’ll play against Colorado. He hasn’t played since March 30.

Adam Moffat also left the TFC game with a hamstring injury and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s affair but did take part in training this week.

“There’s lots of decisions to be made based on guy’s health,” head coach Dominic Kinnear said. “We want to make sure that guys are healthy when they step on the field. The good thing is those guys are practicing so it makes it easier to make a decision.”
