After setting an MLS record with 36 consecutive home games unbeaten, the Houston Dynamo have struggled recently at BBVA Compass Stadium.
Two weeks ago, it was Sporting KC who came away with a 1-0 win in Houston, snapping the Dynamo's unbeaten streak and giving the men in orange their first taste of defeat in a competitive match at BBVA Compass Stadium. On Saturday, it was the New England Revolution who came into Houston and came away with three points.
The back-to-back home losses marked the first time Houston lost two more consecutive home games since 2010. That season, the Dynamo lost three consecutive home games to San Jose, Toronto FC and the New England. The only other time the Dynamo lost consecutive home games was 2007, when they lost back-to-back games to Chicago and New England. The Revolution remain the only team in MLS with a winning record against the Dynamo in Houston. New England is now 5-2-1 with a +4 goal differential in eight career matches.
Despite the defeat, certain Dynamo players reached individual milestones on Saturday. Brad Davis, who is one of four original Dynamo players still on the squad, appeared in his 250th game for Houston in all competitions. Saturday's match was also Davis' 200th career regular season match as a member of the Dynamo. The Dynamo captain is the franchise leader in both categories.
In addition, Dynamo defender Jermaine Taylor made his 50th regular season appearance for Houston and Boniek Garcia appeared in his 25th regular season game. The Honduran winger has made 31 appearances for Houston in the regular season and the playoffs and have played the full 90 minutes in all 31 of those matches.
