HOUSTON (March 25, 2024) – Houston Dynamo FC defender Brad Smith was named to the MLSSoccer.com Team of the Matchday for Matchday 6, the league announced today. The Dynamo earned a 1-0 victory at the Colorado Rapids on Saturday on what was their first road trip of the MLS season and second consecutive shutout victory.
Houston secured the three points in the final minute of stoppage time after the backline cleared a long throw in. Midfielder Artur then played the ball out of the box and found forward Sebas Ferreira near midfield in transition. The Paraguayan connected with an unmarked Smith, who found the bottom corner of the far post for his first goal of the season.
The Australian defender entered the match in the 88th minute, replacing forward Aliyu Ibrahim, providing support on both ends of the pitch to secure the clean sheet and find the late winner.
