The Brazos Valley FC Cavalry, coming off a week that saw the club go unbeaten in two games, had multiple players receive PDL honors this week.
Cavalry forward Brandon Guhl was named to the PDL Team of the Week, Southern Conference Team of the Week and PDL National Player of the Week for Week 9 of the PDL Season. This marks the first time this season a Cavalry player has been named Player of the Week this season.
Guhl was named to the team for his on-field performance where in two games against Albion Hurricanes FC Royals and FC Cleburne, Guhl tallied five goals and two assists. This included a hat trick against FC Cleburne at home, where the Cavalry won 8-1. Guhl experienced success due to his brilliant work rate, ability to find space behind defenders, and his ability to have a quick trigger on strike opportunities.
Guhl was joined on the Southern Conference Team of the Week by left back Carlos Viveros. This week, Viveros had two assists, with one coming in each Cavalry game. He also had a great presence both on and off the ball, allowing for him to create for his teammates and provide a dynamic element to both the offense and defense of the Cavalry.
