In the leadup to the start of their 2017 season, the USL listed some of their top players to watch in different categories, and a Dynamo homegrown made the cut.
Midfielder Christian Lucatero, on a season-long loan with USL affiliate RGV FC, was named one of the top five U-20 players in USL this season. The 19-year-old Dynamo Academy product enters his second professional season with the Toros after playing 271 minutes across 18 games in 2016.
Lucatero produced three assists last season, including two quick assists against Swope Park Rangers as a late substitute. If he's able to earn his way onto the field for more playing time in 2017, it would be a big jump in his development to becoming a first team option with the Dynamo.
Lucatero and RGV FC kick off their season at H-E-B Park on Sunday against rivals San Antonio FC at 6 p.m. CT (WATCH).
