Houston Dynamo defender DaMarcus Beasley is giving back to his hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana as he partnered with the Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department and the Indiana Soccer Association to build the city's first public futsal courts.

ā€œKids of all ages, backgrounds and neighborhoods deserve a chance to play soccer," Beasley said. "I have great memories of playing in Fort Wayne growing up, and Iā€™m hoping to help give other kids that same chance.ā€

The Beasley Courts will repurpose underutilized tennis courts in Packard Park on the city's south side. Beasley attended a grand opening ceremony on Thursday to commemorate the courts.

The Dynamo recently unveiled a mini-pitch of their own in coordination with MLS WORKS and the U.S. Soccer Foundation in Houston's East End, at Cage Elementary and Project Chrysalis Middle School. Courts such as these provide kids a quality playing surface and a safe place to nurture and grow their love for the beautiful game.
