Dynamo Academy product Bryce Marion and the Stanford Cardinal won their third consecutive NCAA Division I National Championship with a 1-0 win in double overtime over Indiana in Chester, Pennsylvania on Sunday afternoon.

Stanford midfielder Sam Werner capitalized on a mistake by the Indiana defense in the 103rd minute and roofed a shot from short range to make the Cardinal the first team since Virginia (1991-1994) to win at least three straight national championships.

Marion, a senior midfielder from Cypress, was a regular starter in his final two years with the Cardinal. He tallied five assists in his senior season, giving him nine assists and a goal in 55 career games. Marion was All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention in 2016, and Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention in both 2016 and 2017 as a Management Science & Engineering major. Marion and the Cardinal were Pac-12 champions each of his four years in addition to their national titles.

Stanford made history this year as both the Cardinal's men's and women's soccer teams won the national championship, something no school has ever accomplished in NCAA DI history.
