The defender was lively on both ends, providing an option going forward and was a steady force in defense. It was a fine performance from the energetic 14 year old.</p><em>Did you know? <strong>Defender: Christian Murillo, U-13 Pre-Academy</strong><p>Christian again proved to be a very important player for the U13’s this past weekend. His tireless running and smart decision-making have made him one of the U13’s most valuable players so far this season. He assisted on the U13’s lone goal and was immense throughout. A player with undoubted ability at a number of positions, we look forward to seeing more great performances from Christian!</p><em>Did you know? His ability to get forward from his outside full-back position as well as his ability to defend has been critical in the U17/18’s success as of recent. <strong>Midfield: Christian Diaz, U-17/18 Academy</strong><p>Christian was fantastic as a holding midfielder for the U17/18’s this past weekend. He showed a great range of passing, along with a willingness to work on both sides of the ball. We look forward to seeing more to come from the talented midfield man.</p><em>Did you know? <strong>Midfield: Alejandro Lezama, U-14 Pre-Academy</strong><p>Alejandro, or “Pollo”, scored and provided great service in his team’s 2-1 win at the weekend. The gifted midfielder slotted home nicely from the spot after an opponent handball in the box. He was a constant threat and rarely conceded possession. We look forward to seeing more from Pollo as the season goes on!</p><em>Did you know? Pollo was made to retake his penalty not once, but twice! The referee called back his first and second penalties, before he coolly placed the third one in the back of the net. #Calm</em> |

<strong>Midfield: Johan Benitez, U-13 Pre-Academy</strong><p>Johan scored his second goal of the season with a low drive from about 25 yards this past weekend. The U13’s won 1-0 in a hard fought battle with a resilient Andromeda side and Johan’s goal proved the difference. Everything about Johan’s play over the last few weeks has been fantastic and we hope to see more of the same from the silky midfielder.</p><p><em>Did you know? He scored 5 goals in 3 games as they picked up 2 wins and a draw against tough competition.
