Houston Dynamo FC travel to Lumen Field on Saturday, July 1 to face Seattle Sounders FC at 9:30 p.m. CT. The Dynamo look to split the series after the Sounders earned three points at Shell Energy Stadium on May 13. The Dynamo went down to nine men following two red cards and that was the first goal the Dynamo conceded in 536 minutes of play at home. Since then, the Dynamo have only conceded two goals at home in four matches in all competitions.

Houston opened the road trip with a loss to Austin FC at Q2 Stadium last Saturday. The 3-0 loss was the first time Houston was held scoreless in five games. Houston fell to St. Louis CITY SC by a similar scoreline on the road on June 3. Houston won the previous two meetings against Austin at home and won the season series with a 2-1-0 (WLD) against their in-state rivals this season. The Dynamo is currently 2-1-1 against Texas teams in MLS following a 1-1 draw with FC Dallas on May 20 in Frisco.

Houston looks for their second road victory of the season on Saturday and their third in the last six games away from home in all competitions. In addition to the 1-0 victory over LAFC on June 14, the Dynamo defeated Chicago Fire FC on the road on June 6 in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Seattle Sounders FC have earned six points from their last eight games and look to earn their first victory since late May, a 1-0 triumph over New York Red Bulls at home. The Sounders will be without Cristian Roldan, his brother Alex Roldan and Jordan Morris who are currently competing for their respective national teams in the Concacaf Gold Cup. Houston will navigate the absence of midfielder Adalberto “Coco” Carrasquilla on Saturday, the Panamanian international is also competing at the Gold Cup and led the team to a 2-1 victory over Costa Rica on Monday.

Houston enters a four-game stretch to close this portion of the regular season prior to beginning play in Leagues Cup. Houston will open a two-game stretch at home prior to a trip to the Rocky Mountains to face the Colorado Rapids on July 15. The team will open play in Leagues Cup on July 21 when they face Orlando City SC in Florida. Four days later the Dynamo will host Club Santos Laguna at Shell Energy Stadium.
